Last week saw the first Sony / PPSA Profoto Awards ceremony in 3 years. I flew up to Joburg for the gala dinner and was honoured to walk away with one bronze and two silver awards in the Architectural and Industrial categories. Go figure. Anyway, it was a class event with some superb work on display and a banquet hall full of extremely talented photographers. Read on to see my award-winning entries :)

7Ray Music Video / Behind the Scenes
I recently co-directed a music video with Daniel Siegler for an Austrian/Swiss rock crooner named 7Ray. The singer’s latest single, ‘Scarlett Sky’ is being featured on the soundtrack to ‘The Informers’, the upcoming Brett Easton-Ellis adaptation starring Mickey Rourke, Billy-Bob Thornton, Winona Ryder, Kim Basinger and Amber Heard. Summer Holiday Pics Unearthed
Lo and behold, somewhere at the back of my fridge I stumble upon an undeveloped roll of Kodachrome 120 beside a vintage cauliflower. It turns out to be a roll I used over Christmas / New Year’s, including a brief trip to my pal Lucy’s shack in the forests near Nature’s Valley. Some great shots of friends and family. All images were shot on my oft-forgotten 1950’s Zeiss-Ikon foldout MF rangefinder. I love this camera because it’s so easy to create crazy multiple exposures. Check it out >
